It is now over 15 months since we moved into our family home in Oaks Hamlet. Having just had our 2nd Christmas in our luxury home, we thought we would reflect on why we still love the contemporary home we purchased.
We were the first residents to move into one of the Oaks Hamlet's unique homes and made a point of welcoming other new contemporary home buyers with a needy tea or coffee, as we never seemed to find time to do this on the day of the move. Since that day, we have all seemed to get on extremely well, to the point where we now tend to socialise on certain occasions and a great sense of community is felt.
As with all lifetime homes, there is always something to do and we decided to build a deck to the rear landscape garden to bring the lounge and dining area together at the same height as the doors. Having planned the project, we started work and, to our surprise, day after day we had a very willing band of volunteers from the community to help dig the footings for the decking and create our dream landscape garden. This has worked out extremely well. We are delighted with the look of our unique, landscape garden.
The designers Environ of Oaks Hamlet have brought complete strangers together to form a great village community and one that can only be described as enviable. We all have different standards but a common aim, to continue the community feel and to help one another through good and bad, without being obvious.
As well as its design and luxury build quality, our family home works well for us. We seem to utilise all of the space in our modern home when previously we have tended to have rooms that were rarely used. Irrespective of the current market, one thing is certain that prices will return, nevertheless we have no intention or desire to move out of our lifetime home. We find Oaks Hamlet irresistible with great neighbours, the village atmosphere, together with its boundary next to the Country Park plus the convenience of Kings Hill. By combining all these elements, we feel we have the Environ 'Designer Label' of modern homes.
We are very fortunate to have found our family home through Environ at Oaks Hamlet and the new friends we have. We firmly believe that as more of the luxury homes sell, the hamlet will further enhance.

I moved into my contemporary home just over a year ago having already lived in Kings Hill for the previous ten years. I had decided not to move further afield from this area because I had made many friends during that time and was part of a vibrant Christian Fellowship community here in Kings Hill.
Once I had decided to move into a lifetime home, I looked at the contemporary and modern homes in Kings Hill and eventually fell in love with this luxury home, partly because of the position, but also because of the large open space on the ground floor and the ability to close off rooms with the special sliding pocket doors between the sitting room, office and kitchen-diner. The modern home also felt solid and well built with splendid large sash windows opening onto the landscape garden, which let in plenty of light. The landscape garden was especially pretty and well stocked with cottage plants.
Since living in my luxury home I have felt safe and part of a special community with kind and friendly neighbours. Altogether I am happy in my modern home and have settled in well.
The staff and workmen have been outstandingly helpful and small snags which have occurred during this time have been dealt with promptly and efficiently.

Having lived in my modern home on Shoesmith Lane for a year, I can honestly say I have never lived in a more friendly community. We have had numerous get togethers and I feel that I among good friends.
A lot of this must be down to the thoughtful layout of the luxury homes and the way Environ have designed the landscape gardens.
I have no hesitation in recommending the lifetime homes in this development.

Moving into our energy-efficient home in Oaks Hamlet is one of the best decisions we have ever made. The lifetime home and surrounding community are exactly what we were looking for and our neighbours have become friends for life. I would definitely recommend an Environ contemporary home.
